We have made use of our many years of experience in rim construction with our state-of-the-art rims from ax-lightness and also applied it to the carbon rims of our engage by ax-lightness wheels.
The aerodynamic and wind tunnel tested design with 45 mm profile height and 28 mm outer width gives the wheelset a very good aero performance. The bulbous shape creates high aero stability, which pays off with low steering effects even in strong crosswinds. The generous 21 mm rim width allows the tyre to expand well, increasing performance and comfort compared to narrower rims. The rim width is optimised for road bike tyres with a width of 25 mm or more. The wheelset is delivered tubeless-ready, so that the installation of tubeless-compatible tyres is possible without any problems. Of course, the wheelset can also be used with tubes. The shiny RAW UD finish together with the lasered decals round off the high-quality appearance of the wheelset.
The engage 45C EVO Disc also plays in the top league when it comes to hubs. As with the entire wheelset, the focus was on maximum stability and reduced weight. High-quality Enduro hub bearings ensure low friction losses, which can be further reduced with an optional Enduro Ceramic upgrade. The crossed 1:1 spoke pattern with 24 Pillar 1420 Aero StraightPull knife spokes per wheel distributes the load on the rim evenly and allows for extremely stiff and durable wheels. All EVO series wheelsets have external spoke nipples. This facilitates maintenance without time-consuming tyre removal.
The weight including tubeless rim tape is only 1400 grams (+/- 5%), which predestines the ax-lightness SELECTION 60C EVO Disc. as an optimal all-rounder for flat as well as hilly and mountainous stages.
The wheelset shows its race suitability with our Continental teams P&S BENOTTI and Saris Rouvy Sauerland.
